In the historic Jordaan area
In 1985 Caffè Toscanini started as a tiny Italian restaurant in Goudsbloemstraat in the Jordaan, a typical quarter of Amsterdam. Soon it became known for its authentic Italian dishes, which were prepared with great care and served in a homely and relaxed atmosphere.
Unfailingly and with great love for the original Italian art of cooking food is prepared. Home-made Italian bread comes out of Toscanini's own bakery. The fresh pastas are home-made. All ingredients used are chosen with the utmost care and whenever possible biological products are used. Besides a fixed menu, which is changed every season, there is the menu of the day with its specialities.
The wine list consists of sheer Italian wines whereby the accent lies on the indigenous species of grapes from regions ranging from the north to the south of Italy.

Oh what was it again at Bordewijk. The second time we were there. Weird that it happened more often not. It always stays a particularly arrive at the restaurant: looking from the outside in, it looks not cozy. That changes if you, sitting, watching, from the inside to the outside through the vines for the window.
After some bread, butter and amuse with yummy pâté, followed the starters a sepia a la plancha that wonderful of flavor was beautifully formatted, as well as my appetizer.
We continued with a main course with at the a leading role for côte de boeuf and at the other for kidneys. Extremely enjoy again. The wines were just right to the courts.
The service was attentive and friendly. We try out what faster coming back.
